The unacceptable statistics:

  • On average, 132 people in the USA take their own life each day. If true, that’s 132 too many.
  • On average, 22 veterans in the USA take their own life each day. If true, that’s 22 too many.
  • Suicide is the second leading cause of death among youth age 15-24.
  • Approximately one out of every 15 high school students reports attempting suicide each year.
  • One out of every 53 high school students reports having made a suicide attempt that was serious enough to be treated by a doctor or a nurse.
  • For each suicide death among young people, there may be as many as 100 to 200 suicide attempts.

This should not be.  If this is nature, then I reject nature, like my hero, Skipper:

There is sufficient help to counter depression. Don’t listen to the lie that we should not talk about it.

Life is precious, please, don’t waste it. Even if it hurts on every step to keep going, don’t stop life short.

If you’re that one person that is struggling to make it through life, tell someone or tell me. I will pray for you. There is help. AFSP would be a good place to start.

If you’re not that one person, help me find them. Give someone my card or share this website with someone.

If you do that, thanks for sharing the message.

If you donate, thanks.
