1. Know the warning signs.

2. Call #1 - Talk to them about your concern for them. Ask how you can help.

3. Ear - Listen, with intent to understand.

4. Mind - Process what you see and hear into your mind.

5. Mouth - Respond by encouraging them to take steps to improve mental health. Talk gently. Let them know that Hope is obtainable. Don’t talk about problems without intent to resolve. Talk about solutions or talk about positive good things. Show them a path to Hope.

6. Call #2 - Call other people or organizations to help. Call 988 if it is a mental crisis. Take them to the ER if needed.

7. Be the hands - Destress them if possible. Carry a burden or remove a burden. Remove one straw.

8. Be the feet - Make sure that basic needs are met such as food, clothing, shelter, and personal hygiene.

9. Pray.
